Swan: A Monoblock Glass Object for Liquid Storage and Transfer

Inspired by the inherent beauty and intelligence of glass, Güner envisioned a design that seamlessly merges the graceful swan form with the transparency and fragility of glass. The result is a truly captivating piece that stands out in any space.

What sets Swan apart from other glass objects is its unique properties. Unlike traditional glass containers, Swan does not have a lid. Instead, it is a monoblock design, crafted from a single piece of glass. This eliminates the need for separate parts and creates a seamless and visually striking object.

The production of Swan involves the intricate art of glass blowing. Each piece is meticulously crafted by hand, starting with the main body and then adding the handle and spout. The dimensions of Swan are 230mm in height, 274mm in width, and 139mm in depth, with a wall thickness of 4mm.

One of the standout features of Swan is the bulged place for filling, which can be colored to add a touch of vibrancy. The glass blowing method allows for the creation of two or more colored objects, further enhancing the visual appeal of Swan.

Functionally, Swan is designed for liquid storage and transfer. Users can easily fill it from the bottom, and thanks to its unique shape, the liquid does not flow out from the bottom during usage. This provides a new and delightful pouring experience for users.

The Swan design project was realized in Antalya in 2012 by Enver Güner and Özgü Gündeslioglu. It represents a fresh take on traditional glass design, offering users new experiences and alternative forms. The combination of functionality and aesthetics makes Swan a true standout in the world of glass objects.

In recognition of its exceptional design, Swan was awarded the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in 2013. This award is given to designs that exhibit outstanding practicality, innovation, and adherence to professional and industrial requirements.
